Looking Back: Trends of 2015

Looking back at 2015, we've seen a lot of new and interesting things all over the color spectrum. Starting this past January when we saw an outbreak of gray and silver- in all ages! Younger clients were begging for gray while older clients embraced their gray and decided to work with it rather than against it.

Next we saw that clients who wanted a sweet, airy look went for pastel pinks and purple for spring. Going into summer, we saw a new highlighting technique called balayage spring to life. This ombre-type look was a perfect way to naturally highlight the face no matter what color your hair was. The most recent color trend of 2015 has been the deep purple and burgundy hair. This look is perfect for fall and winter, especially since most people tend to go darker in the winter months.

As far as styles go- pixie cuts, undercuts, and shoulder length hair were the trend for women, while the pompadour made it's debut for men. Braided hairstyles and buns have been popular with women AND men.

All in all, I would say 2015 was a creative, exciting year in the hair industry. We've seen a little bit of everything- curly, straight, natural, edgy, blondes, brunettes, colors, etc...

What was your favorite 2015 trend, and will you be bold enough to try it?
